The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was lovely. We also loved the rooftop terrace with the plunge pool, it was nice and private. It was nicely tucked away from the busy city centre too.

We had a wonderful stay at this small riad in Marrakech. Dunia and Rashid welcomed us with such warmth and humanity — always kind, always ready to help. They were constantly available with great advice, it was nice to spend time with them.

The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, the pool was a perfect spot to relax, and the breakfasts were truly delicious every single morning.

We felt incredibly well cared for — thank you, Dunia and Rashid, for everything, from all of the Italian group!

The property is a traditional one ..Very cosy and clean..I had a very relaxing sleep .Rashed and Dounia are very friendly and willing to help you with anything..I ate the best chicken Tagine at the Riad..I have tried outside in three different restaurants anf I didn’t like it at all..But at the Riad is sooo good..I ate once amd I asked for the same dinner for the next day.Also regarding the transport from the airport to Riad you don’t have to worry as they can arrange for you and the price is a lot reasonable.

What a cosy Riad this is! We had the Junior suit and felt right at home from the beginning. The hosts were amazing, welcoming and very helpful! The location was prefect to explore the Medina of Marrakech by foot. The rooftop was a great place to relax and take a break from all the walking around. We can only recommend staying here!

Riad is very nice place in busy Medina.I stayed there with my friend for 3 nights. We had twin room Musc situated on the first floor, very comfortable and clean, bathroom with hot shower. The breakfast was tasty. Riad has a good location, walking distance to all sightseeing places. The staff Rashid and Donia was very kind and helpfull, they arranged transfer from and to the airport for 15 € for us. Rashid is a nice guy, he didnt have a problem to make a breakfast for us at 4:30 am because of early flight. Wi-fi works very well. The rooftop and the terrace of the Riad have a beautiful view on Medina and Mountains. I recommend Riad Souad for your stay in Marrakech.

We have been staying in the riad for five nights. The best is the tranquity one can find after never ending walks in the pitoresque and chaotic streets of Medina. The riad is situated in the suburb of Medina, thus one can experience the real life of local people...

This Riad was so fantastic! Our flight got in late but they had a taxi pick us up and then dinner and tea ready for us when we arrived. The woman working at the time was so sweet and has highlighted a map for us so we could manage the streets. The room was BEAUTIFUL!

Our children slept in the room with the single beds, we across the hallway in a room with a beautiful tafelakt bath&shower.
At the rooftop you have a nice view over Marrakech. The small pool can be used to cool.
The girls are hospitable and can arrange reservations.
The riad is at walking distance from the big square.
Nathalie, the owner, can give you inside tips on restaurants and places to visit.

Just got back from Marrakech with my girlfriend and stayed at the Riad for 5 nights, really great service and we were really pleased with everything. The location is really peaceful and a 10 minute walk from the city centre and really good access to another place. The staff are really friendly and helpful and always willing to guide you and help you with anything you need. I would highly recommend this Riad. Thanks

If you are staying here make sure you have GPS as it is hard to find initially! Google maps says it is one street over from where it actually is but luckily there are signs pointing to the right street once some people pointed it out to us. On arrival we were greeted with delicious Moroccan mint tea, and shown to our room which was very lovely. The whole place has beautiful architecture and our stay in the Jasmine room was perfect. Everything was provided, lots of plugs in the room (which is hard to find in Morocco at the other places we stayed at), it was very clean, and the hosts were friendly making us feel right at home. There is a terrace upstairs which I recommend watching the sunset, and breakfast each day was varied which was good as we stayed 3 days. Wifi is reliable but slow sometimes, and due to the courtyard structure noise can carry but as its a small tucked away place, the street noise is minimal and the other guests courteous. Although the staff were wonderful, we found better deals in the medina (the main square being only 10 mins walk away) for tours and purchases, so it is helpful to get advice but check out yourself too. I would highly recommend this riad to anyone staying in Marrakesh.

Really nice riad placed in the medina. Nice rooms, good beds, clean.
Unfortunately our host, Ecla, was very busy earning a bit on the side with us: we bought some of her aunts arganoil at a very cheap price, she told us. We later found out this was everyday price in Denmark.
She also suggested to show us the way to the nearest local hamam and get us a really good price. Later we found out the price she Got us was about four times the price we would have paid if we had not talen her offer :-).

My girlfriend and i spent four nights in Riad Souad and was the perfect and very autentic experience.
The location was very good, very close to everything (Jama el Fna, Souks), the room was cleaned everyday and Ikhlas was the most professional and kind person you can meet there. My girlfrind was sick at the time and Ikhlas saw that she didnt eat that much at breakfast, so she decided to take some tea to the room, she was very kind, gives you the full welcoming experience.

Booked 2 nights at this charming Riad tucked deep inside a maze of hidden alleyways in old Marrakesh. A word of warning!! This Riad is extremely hard to find. My advice is that when you arrive at the airport, purchase a sim card for your phone where you can get data and minutes. Having data will enable you to use GPS or maps where you can know where you are at all times.

Once we finally found the Riad, we were very happy with our stay. Our hosts were so friendly and professional and laid on a lovely and varied breakfast each morning. Our twin room was traditional and beautiful and the free wi-fi was reliable. We were given a detailed tourist map which was invaluable. Once we got our bearings, we actually realised that the location was very good, only minutes from the main square.

Would stay here again!!

Take my advice, buy a data sim card for your phone, or you'll spend alot of your time in Marrakesh lost and walking aimlessly.

We spent, my wife, daughter and I, 10 days at Riad Souad in early August.

It is well located: in the heart of Medina’s Ben Salah neighbourhood, a short walk from Place Jemaa El Fna.

On arrival we were warmly greeted by Hafida and her husband, Sherif. The owners were away on vacation. From the get-go we were treated like family. Tea was served and we relaxed a while before we were shown to our rooms. Our luggage had already been taken upstairs. After we unpacked and settled in, Hafida offered to show us how to get to Place Jemaa El Fna. Once there she pointed out where the ATMs were located (very useful if you intend to do some shopping in the souks) the different main streets, recommended some cafés, where to buy the best juices and sweets etc.. On the way back to the Riad she guided us on an alternate route pointing out where La Place des Épices was, the different souks’ alleys also a small open air market selling fruits and vegetables on the way. She gave us her card with her phone number and offered to assist us if we ever got lost, which we never needed to do, she did such a good job showing us around. The Riad also provides a map annotated with ‘good adresses’ and highlighted routes to and from Jemaa El Fna and other points of interest. I’d go to the market and buy fruits and watermelons during our stay which were kept for us in the Riad’s fridge. Nothing like slices of cool watermelon and peaches after a hot day of bargaining in the souks.

Our whole stay at the Riad was like a dream. Hafida and Sherif were so helpful and friendly. Without them Marrakesh would have turned out a more daunting experience. I’ll give you an example. We’d taken a 3 day trek out to the Sahara and I realized only the day after our return that I’d forgotten my running shoes in the back of our guide’s minivan. Hafida took it upon herself to call the tour operator and arranged to have them delivered back to the Riad at no cost. Little things like that take away the ‘vacation headaches’ and glitches we all come across when travelling.

The Riad itself is gorgeous and charming. The pictures do not do it justice. The moldings, columns, floor tiling and wall covering are all hand crafted. The minutiae of the details are stunning. The beds are comfortable and their bathrooms exotic. There’s a welcoming pool on the rooftop terrace for cooling off. The morning breakfast is generous and delicious. It was enough to keep me going all day.

As for the neighbourhood adjacent the Riad, you will meet nothing but friendly faces and welcoming hellos.

I strongly recommend Riad Souad and its staff for an experience you will never forget. I’ve travelled to many countries and this place ranks tops in my book.

I stayed 4 nights in May 2016 with 2 friends. Riad Souad has a perfect location in the medina of Marrakech, very close to Jama El Fna place and a lot of shops which are opened day and night. The area of this Riad is very safe (compared to another Riad where friends were staying), so we could walk by night to come back for sleeping. Moreover the way is very easy to remember. I recommend the breakfast in the Riad, which is delicious and copious. The rooftop and the terrace of the Riad have a beautiful view on Medina and Mountains. Our host Nathalie and Gerard were welcoming, thoughtful and gave us a lot of advices concerning the places to visit (Bahia, Badii palaces, Majorelle Garden, etc). We strongly recommend Riad Souad for your stay in Marrakech.

My partner and I recently stayed at the Riad Souad for four nights in May. The weather was unseasonably hot at 42C average every day – far too much for our British bodies to handle having come from a mere 15C in London..! Fortunately each room at the Riad has its own individual air conditioning system and there is a small pool on the roof terrace, so we were able to sleep well at night and take a refreshing dip in the pool to keep ourselves cool when the heat of the city became too much. The view from the terrace is lovely and includes some of the best features of the Marrakech skyline, including the Koutoubia Mosque as the Riad is based just a 10 minute walk from the central Jamaa el Fna square.

Our hosts and owners of the Riad, Nathalie and Gerrard, were fantastic and we really couldn’t have asked for a warmer welcome for our first visit to Morocco, or indeed the continent! Gerrard recommended several of the best places to visit, shop and eat and we found each of them to be well worth a visit. Nothing was too much trouble for Nathalie and Gerrard as they catered for us, chatted to us about life in Marrakech, made evening table reservations for us and booked day trips and taxis at our request. They were so accommodating and their enthusiasm and passion for the city was infectious!

Whilst the city can be very busy and bustling with lots of street sellers and some of the locals hassling tourists for payment for providing directions, we found a very warm welcome to the city at the Riad Souad and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a friendly, pleasant atmosphere with all the comforts one would expect from a great hotel!

Staying at the Riad Souad was a fantastic experience, and we would highly recommend it to anybody who wants a proper Moroccan experience. Below is a breakdown of our experience.

Inside the Riad

Beautifully decorated in a sort of ostentatious but traditional Moroccan fashion (i.e. lots of Maroccan lanterns, tables, glasses, etc.). The room that we were in was nice and big, with an en suite shower room (nice big shower too). Crucially, as it was over 40 degrees centigrade, there was individually controllable air conditioning in the room! There was a dipping pool (not huge, but big enough for about 6 people to chill out I guess) on the roof, with a lovely roof terrace to relax - day or night. We had dinner there on one evening, and the food and drink was good and reasonably priced.

The hosts

The hosts, Natalie and Gerrard, are delightful and very welcoming indeed. Gerrard, upon our arrival, gave us a map with a number of recommendations noted on it - we visited many and were disappointed by none. Throughout the week, we also had a number of restaurants and attractions recommended to us, all of which were perfect! Similarly, they organised a trip to the Atlas mountains for us, including lunch in a traditional Berber village, which was spot on and is definitely recommended!!

Location

The Riad is located in the centre of the Medina (old town), about a 10-minute walk from the main square, the Jamaa el Fna. It's outside of the market area, which is good because you're hassled less than when you're right in the centre, but it makes it ever so slightly harder to navigate yourself. However, the hosts are brilliant and Gerrard showed us the right route on the first day, to make sure that we didn't get lost.

At night, a number of streets get closed off, so we would always suggest going back to the main square and walking from there, even if it seems to take you out of your way a bit. The locals are generally nice and will give you directions, but they will charge you rather a lot of money for the privilege. Again, the hosts will explain when you're there.

Just got back from the Riad Souad and we were very happy with our choice, although we did read the reviews before pressing the book now button and we were definitely not disappointed.

The hosts Gerard and Natalie were very friendly and very helpful, booking venues for us as we were only there for 4 nights. We asked for a hammam and we were booked into Le Bain Bleu, excellent choice and just what we needed. Not the cheapest but worth every penny. We asked for a top restaurant with entertainment and they booked Comptoir Darna, very swanky with great food and atmosphere.

The room itself was lovely so Moroccan, and what a peaceful nights sleep we had. We must mention the breakfasts, different each morning and very tasty. My partner particularly enjoyed the home made yogarts, yum yum!

The hotel is about a 15 min walk from the hustle and bustle of the square, perfectly located.

A few tips for those who have never visited Marrakesh before:-
1. Arriving at the airport you will need to complete an immigration form, pick up an extra one as you will need to fill it in again on your departure.
2. The passport control queue takes at least an hour so be prepared.
3. Departing, whether you have checked in luggage or not you still have to stand in the queue and get your boarding tickets stamped, we only had hand luggage and we had printed off our boarding tickets but they still had to be stamped. Don't know what happened to those with the bar code on their mobile phones.
4. Finally Gerard and Natalie will advise you on all your needs just ask they are great.

We had a great time at riad souad thanks to n. and g. who really are very welcoming hosts. the food there was delicious too, the rooms nice and clean, and the roof terrace gives a wonderful view on the city and the atlas mountains. very charming overall. It is also well located, 10 min walks to the heart of the medina, but in a rather calm area in one of those tiny, hidden medina streets. Highly recommended!

Nathalie and Gerard are fantastic hosts. They treated us to mint tea and cookies as soon as we arrived, provided us with maps and recommendations, and were incredibly gracious and accommodating hosts. When we weren't entirely sure how to get to the restaurant where we were having dinner (Le Foundouk-it's pretty close by and amazing), Gerard dropped what he was doing and walked us part of the way there, pointing us in the right direction. The view from the rooftop terrace is beautiful, and since it's pretty much always sunny in Marrakech, even in February, we asked to have breakfast there and our awesome hosts obliged. My friend is a very light sleeper, but we both slept very well in the Riad. It's in a quiet part of town an easy 15 min walk from Jemaa El-Fna (if you know where you are going!), but it's really nice to be there at night where you can get some quality rest.

Recently we had a wonderful stay in Riad Souad. Gerard and Nathalie make you feel at home in their stylish accommodation. They have given us guidance in Marrakech and they were kind enough to join us a few times on our way to the centre. They gave us good tips for restaurants. Thanks by the enthusiasm of Gerard we fortunately visited the wonderful garden of Majorelle. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast on the rooftop terrace. It was real paradise in Riad Souad!

We stayed with Nathalie and Gerard for six nights in June this year. They were very friendly, but not intrusive. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble and they had a great sense of humour.

My only niggle was that I would have liked some fruit with breakfast. We eventually bought our own fruit. Probably, we should have asked. They still rate five stars.

My husband and I stayed at the Riad during our honeymoon in November 2010 (I know, late review). The place is just lovely and Nathalie was so incredibly helpful. Total bargain and just beautifully decorated. Highly recommend.

We stayed in Jasmine and Ambre rooms for three days (26 - 29 dec, 2012) during our first trip to Marrakech. The rooms are very well decorated and were very clean (they clean the rooms every morning). The riad also has nice decorated patio and cool terrace.

Nathalie and Gerard were very friendly and nice. They gave us the most valuable tip: the Toubkal restaurant, a nice and cheap restaurant (was there three days in a row)

The riad was pretty close to Jamaa el Fna (less then 10 mnts walking). However, might be a bit difficult to find the riad for the first time during the night. But they do have noticeable sign to direct you to the door.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay there, and would love to recommend this riad to everyone who wants to visit Marrakech. This riad really offer a good value!
